B.F. Cawley, rider of Harangue, trained by Paul John Gilligan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount made a respiratory noise and also hung both ways during this race. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Pencilhimin, trained by Norman Cassidy, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to have burst a blood vessel. D.J. Benson, rider of Pencilhimin trained by Norman Cassidy, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount stopped very quickly and was pulled up.
