No worries for Celtic fans in the first
It’s nice to get the maiden win with her. She disappointed at Newmarket but she wouldn’t be the first horse to go there and not take to the track. We were putting it down to that.
Donnacha delivers on Harpocrates
Coffee grinds it out for Leonard
She was badly drawn at Fairyhouse and she wants a little juice in the ground and got it today. She is what she is and we got her head in front.
Byrne enjoys Dream first winner at Naas
I used to think she preferred running around a bend but there was nothing wrong with her there. She ran as straight as a die and it’s great that she has won two races. She’s very consistent. We were getting frustrated at Dundalk over the winter and we thought she was never going to win but she’s just that bit better on the turf. Sean was in RACE last year. He had only one year to go in school so he went back and did his leaving cert recently. He rides well and could ride anything. He has great hands, he’s tall but his weight is not too bad. He did a good job there with hands and heels, and I think he only gave her one flick. He didn’t panic and for only his third ride he did very well.
Auxilia looks another nice prospect for Lyons
She’s a nice filly. She ran as green as any of ours have ran all summer at Leopardstown on her first start but I loved the way she hit the line. I would have been very disappointed if she didn’t win today’s race in that fashion. She’s a filly that wants a mile but is still very raw. She holds the big entries but as Colin says we’d like to have one more run in a winners’ race. For that reason we will probably miss the Debutante and go winners and then on to something like the Moyglare. She’s learning on the job but is not as precocious as we think she is. She is a filly we like, and is in a bracket with a few nice fillies that we have.
How great Thou Art for Oliver and Lee
He’s a lovely horse and is bred by Ivan and Eileen Heanen who put him with me. They have been very patient, and are lovely people who thoroughly deserve it.
Surfer leads home a Bolger one-two
She could run again later this week (at Leopardstown on Thursday). The second horse also ran nicely. The jockey is in demand.
The door finally opens for Bellakris
