Vesper Bell scoots clear at Punchestown
He looks made for the four miler [at Cheltenham] and that will be his aim. He loves those conditions and a test of stamina and we were pleased with him.
Luke's Benefit times it just right
That's great. I didn't jock myself off, Noel O'Brien [handicapper] did! Brian is great value for his seven-pound claim and gave him a great ride. He didn't panic and arrived just in time. He is what he is ratings wise and we'll look for something similar. There's a race for him at Naas next week, but that might be a bit soon. He'll mix it in handicap hurdles and chases. It's great for connections (T & M Racing Partnership) as they've had a rough time in the last 10 days with a bereavement in the family.
Warrior wows at Punchestown
I'm thrilled with that. He improved from the north and at Fairyhouse he was good but that was him today and it's great to see,. There was no hiding place for anything there. I'll have a chat with the boys now (owners Gigginstown) and see what way they want to go. It's just great to get a couple of wins with him. I'm just happy to go for something nice after today. We'll see how he is in the morning and week ahead. That's the most important thing as he's had a few problems in the past.
Hartside gifted win by Cat fall
I was wondering was he going to win after the other fella fell as he had a look around as if to say should I stop!. He's a grand little horse and won three at a moderate enough level on the Flat. It's a good way to finish the year . so well done him!
Canaly equally at home over hurdles
He was good the last day when he won his beginners' chase. It was a question of where to go at this time of year as the novices are so hot. He had dropped him a bit over hurdles from what he was at at his best. It was a chance to win another one with him. Hopefully he'll be able to compete in the novices (chases) later in Spring.
Treacy praised for World Citizen work
That's Ryan's first ride for me and he gave her some ride. No doubt Oliver will be on to me!. That was a great win. It's been a good week for the Newell's. They had a winner in Limerick trained by Mark Roper [Courtly Conduct]. They are marvellous people and longstanding patrons.
Our Pollyanna looks a good one
It was a very convincing win. She's a very genuine, nice mare. She has developed hugely from last year into a very nice mare. Jim O'Neill picked her out himself at the Land Rover Sale. He has a very good eye and she has developed tremendously. We'll probably go for a winners' bumper. She likes the ground and we'll take advantage of that.
