Heffernan wins Galway opener on Everlasting
San Aer flies home under Lee
I was nervous for a moment but he said if he had to pull him up to go wide, it would have sickened the horse so he kept chancing the inside. He got a good ride, loves that ground and it couldn't be heavy enough for him. He won this race last year, is a great honest horse and keeps pulling out every day. He had a nice second last week and while he got stopped, wouldn't have won. He'll go to the Curragh on Sunday for either a E50,000 mile handicap or another race over seven furlongs. I'll chat with the owners and decide.
I've Been Dreaming wakes up on handicap debut
He did it well, we had a great draw and Ronan said he'd take the gaps when they were there. He had a good look around when he hit the front as it was his first time ever doing anything like that. He surprised me as he is a huge big raw horse and I was surprised he handled it so well. It is a bit of a surprise but the lads will be delighted and he is one to look forward to next year. We'll put him away now and look forward to the spring.
Comer's City is too Rapid for younger rivals
Doyle & Hassett combine for another winner
Immutable scores under top weight for Murphy & Carroll
He is progressive and is a horse we like to have,. We think he is going to go forward and he'll go three-year-old hurdling now. We like the way he jumps but then again I've seen horses which school well at home who end up doing other things, so it's all ahead of him. He is an ideal candidate for hurdling though.
Grann's Boy gets the trip well
He's not a bad horse, is only a three-year-old and I think he is a nice type. The further he goes the better he'll be and he'll be a nice hurdler who'll go jumping next February or March. There's a whole family in the syndicate who are from outside Athlone and one of them lives here just outside Galway so it's great. Adam rode him the last twice but that's his first winner for me.
Boilover in Galway finale as Heffernan bags a brace
I thought he might do that the last day because his run two starts before at Navan was very good but he disappointed us and nothing came to light. It was a fact-finding mission today and Seamie said the best of the ground was on the inner - I don't know how he has managed to get across from (stall) 17 but he has. He gave him a fantastic ride. He has always promised more than what he has shown but thank God he did that. We might go hurdling or wait until next season.
