Percy makes excellent start over fences
I'm happy and Davy (Russell) is very happy so that's a good sign. Today we were starting him out and we'll see where we go from here,. He jumps well and should do (make as good a chaser as hurdler). It was a very good race and now it's just a matter of giving him enough experience. There's plenty there (improvement) and he's an exciting horse for the future, once he stays in one piece.

Tomcoole just loves Galway
At his age you wouldn't think he'd do that but he absolutely loved it and jumped from fence to fence all the way and handled the ground better than anything else,. He had run alright at Downpatrick the last couple of days but was well beaten ultimately. Two years ago he won this race in similar fashion as an 11 year old. . You wouldn't know what he'd do (the handicapper) but he'll hardly be too hard on him. No matter what he gives him he'll still be in the 0-102 category!
Russell completes Galway double
she has been consistent all the way but I was afraid coming here the ground would be against her. We rode her to get a trip and she did and will run next in the Grade 3 Mares' Novice Hurdle at Down Royal (on Friday).
1,2,3 for J P in bookies handicap
He is a nice progressive horse and has nice battling qualities. He is a nicely bred horse and is from the family of Don Poli,. He has his own way of jumping and young McInerney gave him a lovely ride. There's no doubt his 7lbs claim looked to be the winning of it and it was his first ride for me. This horse has grown an inch, is still only five, and will go chasing this time next year.
