The winner Classy Al (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Thirsk on 9 April 2022 where the gelding finished thirteenth of eighteen beaten 18 lengths.
Jim Goldie’s explanation that Classy Al (GB) benefitted from better ground on this occasion, which was officially described as Good, Good to Firm in places, was noted.
Classy Al (GB) was routine tested.
Following the race, Joe Fanning reported that Bobby Shaftoe (GB), unplaced, was restless in the stalls resulting in the gelding being slowly away and the Veterinary Officer reported that Gleaming Maize (GB), unplaced, lost its left hind shoe.
