He came out of the race on Friday in Gowran Park very well. He’s a laid-back character at home and looks great, so we said we’d take our chance and it was a good shout to bring him back. He’s a nice horse going forward, appreciated the ground and will get further. It’s nice to win a maiden with him.

I’m delighted for the owner who gave her to me to have a go with. I’ve had her about eight or ten weeks, not long enough to ruin her, and she’s been absolutely straightforward for us. She’d worked well and my only doubt was whether she would do on the track as she does at home. It probably wasn’t the greatest of races but a win is a win. She can jump hurdles as well.

He’s a fine stamp of a horse and could turn into a jumper. He loved that ground. We could step him up in trip anytime we want but that trip is ideal for him at this stage of his life. Ronan thought he could have won a bit cosier if he had a little more luck. He’s only learning the job and hopefully there is another one or two before he’s on his way.
