An enquiry was held to consider why a member of the racecourse groundstaff had appeared to cross the course as the runners were approaching the bend after the winning line on the final circuit.
The Clerk of the Course representing the Management Executive and Tom Scudamore, the rider of Teaser (GB), were interviewed and shown recordings of the incident.
Having heard their evidence, their explanations were noted and a report was forwarded to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority.
Following the race, James Bowen reported that Coal Stock (IRE) made a bad mistake at the third last hurdle which caused the gelding to lose all chance and was subsequently pulled up.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Criq Sun (FR), which was pulled up, finished lame on its right fore.
