Thecompanysergeant has spring Festivals in his sights
He's a cracking horse, he's done us no wrong. He missed a year after his point-to-point with an injury and it probably stood to him really. A lot of people were questioning would he handle the ground, but he has never got to run on that ground with me taking chances running him on good ground. He would want to have been doing that - we were going to go for the Albert Bartlett if we got in, but we didn't get in. He will be better up in trip in time. It is great for his owner, Martin Cooney. When he got injured he stuck with him and he is repaying him now, so hopefully he will go on to maybe a novice hurdle before the season is over. Maybe Fairyhouse or Punchestown. He is game and he digs in when you want it. He's from a family of good staying chasers.

Senior proves the Chief in staying Novice Hurdle
Delighted with that, he's a lovely horse. I like the way he ground it out there. He's still a baby, but he is improving all the time. He only needs to land there, you wouldn't want to be getting there too soon. He stays well but yet he has a gear as well. He was only just beaten in a two-mile maiden hurdle in Clonmel. He's qualified for the Red Mills Auction Final at Punchestown, so he's entitled to go there. We wanted to get him a bit more experience.
Any Second Now heads to Aintree on the back of another win
He did it nicely, he didn't do any more than he had to do. Denis was happy with him. He popped away well. Got under the last a bit, the ground is very testing. When he grabbed a hold of him at the back of the last, he quickened up well. Each time he has gone to Aintree, his last run has been a win. It has been great to have him and he has been a model of consistency. A month (to Aintree), I was glad this was on as it was called off here last week. He has a month from last Saturday which is grand. As long as he stays sound and healthy, he will go there. He has a big task with the topweight on his back. He wasn't unlucky last year, a better horse on the day beat him - a horse on the improve. He was unlucky the year before and he'll go back and run a good race again, but everything would want to fall right for you. It is seven years since he won his maiden hurdle here as a four-year-old. He's grand and a straightforward horse, he's a bus of a ride.
Better Times Ahead lands valuable novice handicap
He had a nice run the last day in Gowran Park, he finished fourth and it was a step forward a bit. He seemed to just handle conditions very well and probably handled them more than most of them. He stayed on and it was a nice pot to get. I had the mare (Byerley Babe) and she was a black-type mare. She was a good mare and was a little bit unlucky late in her career, she got an infection in a back leg and it just held us up when we thought we had her. These things happen. We’ll look at Fairyhouse or Punchestown and see what way the ground is as he does handle those conditions well.
Patience rewarded as Misty Hollow opens his account
He had been off a long time and was ready to run at Christmas, and then they all got sick on me and started coughing a bit and all that. Two months ago I thought I wouldn't get ground to run him, he wants soft ground. I'm delighted, we always thought he was half-decent. He's ten years of age but he's had his own few problems. He got a bad fall one day in Limerick and did a bit of damage to himself. We have plenty to build on. JJ gave him plenty of time to get into it. Fair play, he just crept away all the way with him. He's a good jockey. We could look at somewhere like Limerick as he wants soft ground. Funny enough I won this race last year with Dont Go Yet.
Farren Glory is one to look forward to for Easyfix owner
He's a proper horse, he was showing us all the right signs at home and we are delighted. I've been friends with Michael (Earls, owner) for the last 10 or 15 years since I started training. After three years waiting, I told him this is the horse for him! If he’d had a run we could have run him at Cheltenham. We'll mind him, he's a horse for next year. He could go to Punchestown, but we will do the right thing for the horse. We might keep him for the winners' bumper in Galway, Michael is a Galway man.
