Giant's gamble comes in
He did what we thought he would do. He is a nice horse and he probably didn't like the track, as he needs more of a galloping track. He is a better class than what he was up against here and the form of his bumper win has worked out well. We will stick him in a handicap on the level next and see what mark the handicapper will give him. I don't think Galway would suit him, he might go to Leopardstown or the Curragh next. He is a nice horse to go hurdling with later in the year as he is 16.2hh and has plenty of scope.
Newmarket scores for Austin & Foley
We have been waiting along time for that! It's nearly two years since she last won at Lingfield. She missed out a few times this year, between being left at the start and giving wrong instructions. She could have won the last day only for she missed the kick. She would want the ground a bit better than it is out there today but she was good enough to win. We will look for something similar for her now and she will mix it between the flat and hurdles.
Golan Go has a better day twelve months on
Hopefully he can do that again, if the handicapper is kind to him. He might go for a handicap hurdle at Galway next but it's a tough place to go.
Claimer next for Black Belt
She is in a claimer at Wexford on Friday and that's where she will go. Seamie gave her a lovely ride and she was entitled to win a race as she has been very consistent. She's there to be claimed on Friday.
Cinderella scores on second start over hurdles
She did it well in the end although I thought her mistake at the last would cost here. She has been disappointing as she works so well at home. She is so big she's only starting to mature now. The ground is beautiful out there and she will go back for something on the flat.
Baby whizzes to victory
He was entitled to win that as it didn't seem a great race. He is a small horse and will go for another handicap hurdle next. The handicapper gave him five pound for finishing third the last day so I hope he doesn't give him much more after that.
Khayer provides Emmet with first NH win
That was great and it was all the more sweet as its Emmet's first win under National Hunt rules. It's great to get him off the ground. He only has his jumps licence six weeks. He did it well and jumped super although slightly to the left. We might find a handicap hurdle for him at Galway next.
