Bella battles back to land the feature
She was tough. We were keen to get a lead tonight because we made plenty of use of her over seven in Leopardstown. Going a mile we were keen to get a lead,. It worked out, she was tough and when she had to win it she won it. I'm very happy with that. She's comfortable at seven to a mile and I think she likes a bit of nice ground. Hopefully we'll step up in grade now. I'd say she just went asleep when she went to the front and Billy said when she realised the other horse was there she woke up, or maybe he woke her up!. It was great she won and I would have been disappointed if she had got beat.
Ano Manna wins readily despite market drift
She won well and we're happy with that,. We were disappointed the last day, she missed the break and I think the horse falling in front of her frightened her a bit. Things just didn't work out. She did it well today, ears pricked, so we'll see what the handicapper does.
Timely boost for McLoughlin as Howyoulikethat wins well
O'Donoghue thinking big with highly regarded Beechwood
I'm delighted, we've always held her in pretty high regard and had Limerick come off we might be looking at the weekend (Irish Oaks) with the rain that's due,. She's a filly that wants it easier than what she has run on there tonight. We'll obviously skip the weekend but we might look at some big targets later on, she's a nice filly. She's in the (Irish) Leger, I like putting them in and having something to work back from. In time she'll be a filly of that ilk hopefully.
Reason made to work for maiden win
Martin White (owner/breeder) is a Limerick man so it's great that he's after winning here for him. He bred him as well and we're delighted with that. We're delighted for the horse. We were a bit shocked that he was favourite in Roscommon because there was a horse rated 103 in it. He shouldn't have been favourite, everyone was disappointed bar ourselves because we knew he'd come on from it. We were a bit worried about the ground, that it was better than yielding when we walked it, but the rain just came in time. Colin was delighted with him and he'll get further. Mentally he was an awful lot better today. Colin was brilliant on him but he dug it out as well. It's onwards and upwards, I think mentally and physically he'll improve and improve to better things.
