An Saighduir battles to another win
An Saighduir keeps doing it! His action is better this year and he is getting back to his two year old form - hopefully he can translate this form back to the turf although the handicapper is pushing him up.
Deegan 'jolly' does the business
Zahr Alyasmeen was a big weak two year old and we probably brought he back her too quick after her first run.
Emperor strikes back
Honourable Emperor is coming along nicely and Joseph (O'Brien) thinks a mile and a quarter is ideal for him. We'll see if there's something here for him here in the next few weeks but he'd need good ground when he goes back on turf. He is a very uncomplicated horse, is very tough and has been doing all his work on his own as my other three year olds are not ready for a run yet.
Billyford notches up hat-trick
we gave Billyford a little break and has come back a bit fresh and keen but Declan (McDonogh) had him in the right place. He is very ground dependent and has to have good ground. I'd like to run him in the Irish Lincoln but he is unlikely to get his ground and the Winter Derby at Lingfield could be another option.
Birthday boy Dias welcomes thirties with winner
Tide springs surprise
Patience is the key to Discovery
Discovery Bay deserved that . He has plenty of gears and it's nice that he gets the trip (two miles). Nina was brilliant on him, as he likes to be dropped-in and he can be a bit keen. He'll jump hurdles when the ground dries up a bit.
Pilot 'overcomes' bounce factor!
I have to thank Louise Parkhill who has done all sorts of physio on Sky Pilot. They talk a lot about 'the bounce factor' in England but this fellow hadn't run for about 250 days until he ran over hurdles at Downpatrick on Wednesday and then came out and won here! .He is tough and and he jumps a fence well so we'll probably go that route in time. I'm delighted to get a win here and he may come back here again next week.
