The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Mr .P.W.Murtagh, that Mr T. O'Connor, rider of Baccalaureate (FR), attempted to weigh out with a modified back protector. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Rule 198(v) and having considered his record in this regard, suspended him for seven race days. The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Mr.P.W.Murtagh, that G.B. Noonan, rider of Athdara Steeler,placed sixth, failed to weigh in. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards disqualified Athdara Steeler and amended the judges placings accordingly. Furthermore the rider was found to be in breach of Rule 230, having failed to weigh in and having considered his clean record,cautioned him concerning his future responsibilities in this regard. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Kalanisi King, trained by J.R. Barry, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be coughing and making an abnormal respiratory noise post race.
