Joy after drama in Downpatrick opener
My daughter-in-law Stacey Stafford bought this horse for me as a birthday present. That's my first track winner though she did win a point-to-point at Ballinaboola. She lacked a bit in Limerick when she didn't pick up after the last, but since then she has been much stronger in her schooling. I'm from Enniscorthy Co Wexford and it was a right trip up. I've never been here before. It's a most unusual track, it's very testing. You wouldn't see on TV the hill at the finish. It's very undulating.
Lad takes care of business at favoured track
That ground was as quick as he'd like it.
Tote Racing lands first win
She was tough. Davy said they went off very fast and she was off the bridle. It's great for Tote Racing as it's their first winner. I bought her in Ascot Sales for 800 quid.
McBratney gets winner with his 'new boy'
Willie (Mullins) gave me him through Harold Kirk. He had a wind operation and we cauterised his palate. He had a nice run in Fairyhouse and he improved out of it. We knew he would stay. Ben gave him a good ride. We'll look for a wee novice for him maybe in Perth in July. He could drop back to two miles as he has plenty of pace.
Downpatrick double for Butler
Rohan's Pride continues to progress
I'm delighted for my father (Winston, winning owner). Also I stand the sire of Rohan's Pride - Pushkin - for 1,000 euro. That's my second win as a trainer. I took my license out in March. We'll consider all options now with this horse though I'm minded of the saying 'keep yourself in the best of company and your horses in the worst company!'
Hamilton has another nice youngster
I always thought he was a nice type. He was unlucky it took so long for him to win a point-to-point but it took a long time for him to settle.
