American Mike makes winning start over hurdles
He didn't really do much - he (Jack Kennedy) said he was kind of asleep under him most of the way. He says there is plenty of improvement and that he was always just in second gear to be honest. He said he was a bit novicey at a few of his jumps. It might not actually do him any harm just in behind, (instead of being) 25 lengths in front on his own the whole way. He was good over the last two. He said he'll come on, so we are happy. The plan is definitely Navan (2m4 Grade 3 Monksfield Novice Hurdle on 27th).
Jungle Prose follows up Thurles win to complete quick double for Elliott
Jack (Kennedy) had the pick of the two of them and he picked the other one (Walking The Walk). We were worried about the 12lb we got for winning the last day. She won well again and a lot of thanks has to go to Gary O'Brien (broadcaster) who told me to buy her. Yes, something like that (Pertemps qualifier) - she is going the right way anyway. She is honest and tries.

Piped Piper justifies short odds in WKD Hurdle
We didn't want to make the running, he idles in front. We obviously didn't want to make it, but we had to make it. Jack said he was just cantering around and he did more in a piece of work at home. He just said he missed the last.
Now Where Or When a popular local winner at Down Royal
I was very tempted to be going for the race tomorrow with him over three miles (handicap chase). Two miles is plenty short enough, I know he won the beginners' over two miles. Stepping up into better company, he definitely wants further. I was just worried about tomorrow if we get a deluge here tonight it could open up. He's a grand big horse. He has never really run a bad race, he has been very consistent and sure hopefully he will keep progressing. Daryl Jacob rode him in the spring for us at Fairyhouse and he suggested to have a go with him over the National fences, so that could be an option down the line. That's Sam's first winner for me and sure hopefully he will get a few more. He gave him a great ride. He's had a good few rides for me but it is good to get a winner for him. After the first (fence), he was gaining at every fence.
Mighty Potter a fourth for Elliott at Down Royal
To be honest, we didn't want to make the running with that horse either. Jack said he has lost concentration at one or two, but in all he was very good. With a lead, he would be a totally different horse but we had to make it, there was nothing we could do. It wasn't ideal, but look he said he never came out of second gear. I'd be thinking of the Drinmore (over 2m4f at Fairyhouse) , we'll get him home and see how he is.
Carnfunnock upsets odds to give Crawford double
He's a very, very good horse. We were very disappointed whenever Facile Vega beat him as easily as he did back in Leopardstown, but you just have to take that on the chin and go on. He wasn't quite right in Punchestown and I probably shouldn't have run him that day. He's had a good break and has strengthened up well. The plan was always to go hurdling with him but, just the way this race cut up, I stuck him in it. Our hand was forced really, we had to go and run. I'd imagine now we would be straight over hurdles with him, he has his schooling all done and he is ready to go hurdling unless there is another bumper for him. I'm friendly with Warren (Ewing) who had sold the horse (runner-up Better Days Ahead) to Gordon (Elliott). Both Gordon and Warren were very sweet on that horse and he could be a very good horse too. It was grand to get it. If he could improve from his bumper form and, touch wood he has been a good jumper, he could be exciting. It is good for Ben (Crawford, brother) to get a winner, he works hard at the weight.
