Going - Soft (Soft to Heavy in Places). Fine
Cannon blows rivals away
I thought out of the two of mine, Leroy Parker would handle the ground but I wasn't sure about Blue Cannon. Blue Cannon was slicker to jump though and will now be kept on the go during the winter but will have a break of a month or five weeks now.
Miss Nomer gains Grade 3 glory
that's an important win for Miss Nomer and she seems to have improved . today was a good day for her. I've no real plans from here but will probably find another mares race next.
The Real Article takes WKD Hurdle
I'm delighted with that and the horse is a credit to all my staff and everyone concerned who had an input in getting him back to form. He has had his problems and the reality was that last spring we were nowhere with him . the sad thing was, he only had one race in his novice year and that was very frustrating. We have the luxury now of either giving him a break and prepare him for a spring campaign or else going for races like the Hattons Grace or Fighting Fifth Hurdles. I'll discuss things with Barry (Geraghty) before making firm plans and, at this moment, I couldn't say he won't make a Champion Hurdler.
Meade doubles up in another maiden
Commander Russell in control
he was a joy to watch!
Lambe's Symphony on tune
I have to take my hat off to I Hear A Symphony's owner Tony Cromwell as I was concerned about running him in that ground today but he told me to run him! I thought the ground was a bit too soft for him. He was a bit disappointing over hurdles recently but he is back on track again. He followed the same path as last year and we may now stick to what we know with him again!
Dancin' Glory takes bumper
Dancin' Glory ran well in all her bumpers but was a bit weak - she'll probably go for the Mares Listed Bumper at Navan next. He owners, the JR Partnership, are from Belfast and own this one's half sister Dancera, who I also train.
