Keane breezing towards the 100
It's grand to have a winner near the end of the season in Lynne's colours. Ger loved him in Goresbridge Breeze Ups and did a deal with Jim McCartan from Mullingar. He's a great temperament horse, plenty of speed at home, and we got it right as we had another horse in the race but left him at home as Colin was confident with the breeze up underneath him that he'd have the experience to go first time out. He took a little bit of time to warm up and showed great mental attitude for a horse first time up. There was a bit of bumping in front of him and he went through the middle as if it was his second run.

Leonard within one of Orr now
Killian was on early in the week looking for the ride, and he's just one behind (Oisin Orr) now (in the apprentice championship). We said that we'd go the brave route and he likes to come between horses,. Killian was on the outside and he said he's not liking this at all so he went to the inside and found a bit of trouble and that woke him up. He showed a nice turn of foot. He's had his problems and we put him in at a very realistic price tonight (€9,000). We could lose him but he's eight in January and has given us a great bit of fun. He's been a great old servant. It was a very intelligent ride and he's a very good young fella.
Kinane readies another winner
Usually the owner is ringing the trainer to find out how their horse is going to run but this morning I had to ring the owner as I was in Newmarket for the last week. I'd love to take some of the credit but Mick has been in riding him out to get ready for the charity race.
Tynamite lands a gamble
He always worked nicely at home but he didn't like soft ground at all. Both times he's run here he's run respectable. He may come back here next Friday night.
Birrane fires in his first winner
I'm delighted and especially that my first winner is with this horse. He was lame when I had him first and we thought he might have to be put down. He's had a procedure done for kissing spines as well. We've coaxed him back and it's a dream come true to win with him. The visor made a huge difference to him when he ran well the last day. I want to thank all the stable lads as without their help I wouldn't be here today and to the owners. We have plenty of support here tonight from Killala.
