Rock solid effort from Gorman's topweight
He's a tough little horse and very consistent. He runs his heart out all the time. I thought he'd run a big race tonight and he did. I'm not sure what opportunities he'll get here now as he'll be gone out of the 65 bracket after this and if your rated 68 or 69 you don't get a run in better class handicaps.
Foley opens account on the Flat
He did it well and I knew coming here that he was in the best form he's ever been for me. He was off for well over a year as we couldn't get good ground, and eventually decided to come here. He came on in leaps and bounds for his run here earlier this month.
Queen Of The Sand lives up to her name
She is a very light filly. One of the things she has going for her is that she is pure honest and has guts. I thought she was a Nursery type filly all year and its nice for her owner (Declan Landy, who is from Kildare and is in the fencing business) that she now has a win as a 2yo on her pedigree. She will have a nice break now and come back over seven furlongs to a mile.
Double Joy for Whelan as Captain scores
I am very pleased and he was due a turn. The first two are decent and they have been knocking against each other a few times here. Ronan's three pound claim was a big help. He is a horse that needs good ground which he hasn't got all year. He is fit and well and we will keep him on the go here.
Double for Lyons as Note obliges
She ran well first time out at the Curragh but a lot of her runs have been on heavy horrible ground and I decided to come here with her to see what she would be like on a proper surface. I will give her a good break now and obviously we would be hoping to get some blacktype with her next year. Sheikh Fahad (of Qatar Racing Limited formerly Pearl Bloodstock) has been a good supporter of mine. He gave me my first Group 1 winner (Lightening Pearl) and I am glad to be on his team of trainers.
Miss Forde gets it right on her eighth start
When she has got her head in front tonight, she has gone and done it really well. She will make a lovely hurdler.
Shake The Bucket does it again at Dundalk
He loves this place and he loves that ground. There was no summer for him to run over hurdles and he will come back here to run over the winter.
Well backed Prince takes the last
It's great to have Pat Smullen aboard. We will tip away with him now as he seems to like the surface. He has had a few little problems and he was sick for a while.
