Dozen up for record-breaking Weld
I'm very pleased for all concerned at Rosewell House. We have 80 of a staff and there are a lot of people in the background that do an awful lot of work. Jockeyship is so vital around Galway. You have to be in the right place at the right time, and that's how so many races are won around here. Both Robbie McNamara and Pat Smullen have done their job this week,.
Gorman & Hayes open account
She's had plenty of runs but she's tough, and the ground was plenty quick enough for her. She ran well at the Curragh last time on soft ground she likes considering she also lost a shoe.
Ambition strikes for Martin
With a little ease in the ground there was always going to be a day in him, and touch wood it was today. Noel O'Brien (handicapper) will probably give him a bit of a hit after this.
Clare digs deep in feature
She just loves a battle, and is as tough as they come. I have nine in training and she's the stable-star at the moment. Obviously I would love to get her some black type.
Landmark winner for English
I only started training this year and thats my first winner. I was riding in point-to-points (without success) but was out for a year after getting a fall and decided to give training a go. All credit to Ben who gave him a peach of a ride. Nothing went right for him here on Monday but he ate up fine since and we decided to run him again.
Lucky 13 for Weld as Smullen hits a perfect 10
That was a very good ride by the pilot. I'd like to win a Listed race with him. He was just beaten in the Oyster Stakes last year, so that's an obvious race to come back here for.
