Shortly after the start, the winner, Gamesters Icon (GB), edged right whilst running freely, carrying Railport Dolly (GB), placed sixth, off its intended line at the same time as Abushamah (IRE), unplaced, edged slightly left, which caused Luna Magic (GB) to be checked, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Gamesters Icon (GB).
Mr Bradley Roberts, the rider of Stringybark Creek (GB), unplaced, was suspended for 5 days for using his whip when his horse was showing no response in the home straight.
Following the race, Archie Watson reported that Luna Magic (GB), unplaced, was unsuited by the going, which was officially described as Heavy on this occasion, and would prefer a quicker surface.
Alistair Whillans reported that Zealous (IRE), placed eighth, was never travelling on the Heavy going on this occasion.
