Slevin well-pleased with Listowel win on San Salvador
Dream start by Flanagan for Mullins as sole mare beats the boys
I asked David Casey who was the best available, he said Sean so I took him and it was a nice spare,. He took the outside route when things didn't go well at the start and it seemed to suit her and she jumped beautifully for him. We put a line through her Killarney run but she had a good run in Galway and has come back right today. I thought the ground would be too dead for today as the jockeys said it was dead ground after riding in the first. Maybe she is just improving. It is great for Eleanor and Shane Manning.
Game Catch doubles his score with flying finish
Roche's Door stays shut on well-fancied Lord
Northern Love expected to progress after Listowel win
He has been unlucky and even today he just missed a couple of fences when he needed good jumps. While his jumping left him down, he is a good horse and probably was our best chance of the week,. He is 17.3hh, a huge horse and is only a six year old who is lightly enough raced. We won't over-race him and in time, as he progresses, I think is a three-mile horse. He'll have to keep improving yet to be a Kerry National horse in time but it is possible. He needs to jump better and if he jumped better today I thought he would have won well. He is a lovely horse and is owned by a fabulous man Kevin McNamee who trusts me with his life and we have a great relationship. It is great to get one winner for the week but now that we've had one, we'd love another tomorrow.
Huge drama in Southampton Goodwill as Roche completes double
We got a great bit of luck and we'll take what we can, but you'd always hope everyone is alright after the falls,. He has been a great horse to have, he had already won on St Stephen's Day at Leopardstown and Easter Monday in Fairyhouse and winning at these festivals is great. It was nice to see him come back after pulling up early the last day.
Newmarket and Listowel Friday gains for Mrs Harrington
Pink In The Park looks "a bit special" at Listowel
She could be a bit special that one. She had been working well and brought it to the race track today,. She is a fine mare, we'll look for some Listed bumpers with her now but the race in Gowran (next month) comes too soon. I might give her a break now and put her by until Christmas or the Dublin Racing Festival. She has got it on both sides, is from the Morley Street/Granville Again family and has a top class pedigree. I don't know about ground yet, but it's not a worry yet anyway. It caps off a nice couple of days for Patrick who rode the winner of the Racehorses-to-Riding class in Balmoral Show yesterday. He actually rode all 15 horses as he was the judge, along with Noel Chance on the ground, and it was won by Woodland Opera. It was a change of pace on that filly today.
