Nat too quick for the rest in premier nursery
Ballybacka off the mark in style
I was as nervous as could be as she had two middling runs mixed in with her two seconds. It is a great relief and it worked out grand for a finish as we got the 10,000 sterling bonus too. She ran once before over six furlongs - that being on her debut at the Curragh when she was very green. We were just saying that she'd never have been caught in Galway if it was over six. She'll go to grass now and come back next year when we'll have plenty of options as regards trip.
Milestone winner for Prendergast
I was just on the phone to Kevin and he never even mentioned that it was his 2000th. He just said that she won well and that he was delighted. He's only been training horses in those colours for a while. I took them over from my late father, about five years ago. Joanna Morgan trained for him after he retired from the training ranks himself. Of course these colours are in use since the 1940s in my grandfather's time. They were carried to victory in the 1951 Epsom Derby, in the 1955 Irish Derby, the 1956 Irish Oaks and by Levmoss in 1969 in the Prix de l'Arc. I think we won the French Oaks the year after that too.
Joy for Boynagh at Dundalk again
Prospectorous continues on an upward curve
He seems to be improving and he'll probably come back here as he wants good ground. He has a lot of speed which would surprise you given the size of him - he could even drop back to a mile. He does both jobs and is rated 97 over fences. Daryl is the fifth different jockey to win on him and he joins a good list, Mick Kinane, Johnny Murtagh, Ruby Walsh and Tony McCoy. Niall Cronin of course won the charity race on him at Punchestown.
Hoban brings the Chap with a late run to score
Barbadine does it well in Dundalk finale
That was very pleasing. Her last run gave her a big chance and she seemed to enjoy it up here. She'll come back here for the Carlingford Stakes on November 6th.
