Prospectorous is proving to be a good servant to his owners the Pride & Soul Racing Syndicate and his trainer Philip Dempsey and the son of Monashee Mountain followed up his Galway success from 25 days ago by landing the Derrinstown Stud Apprentice Handicap at Dundalk.
In the hands of Daryl Byrne (based with Harry Rogers, this being his 7th success of the season and his fourteenth in all) Prospectorous led a furlong and a half out and stayed on well to comfortably beat Keelaghan by a length and a quarter.
Dempsey said: "He seems to be improving and he'll probably come back here as he wants good ground. He has a lot of speed which would surprise you given the size of him - he could even drop back to a mile.
"He does both jobs and is rated 97 over fences. Daryl is the fifth different jockey to win on him and he joins a good list, Mick Kinane, Johnny Murtagh, Ruby Walsh and Tony McCoy. Niall Cronin of course won the charity race on him at Punchestown."
