Wichita hits the line well for Heffernan
He's a nice horse and he was just ready to start. He's a lovely horse, . He's a No Nay Never and he's not short of speed but he looks like a horse that will get a mile next year.
Sinawann another promising juvenile for Halford
He had a lovely introduction here two weeks ago and he stepped forward well in his homework. He was always going to be better stepping up a furlong and I'm delighted,. It looked a good race on paper. He showed a good attitude, Ronan said he was there plenty early on him but I loved the way he knuckled down to it. We'll take him home and see where we go from there but he's a smart horse. He has entries in a good few races. It's nice to get that out of the way with him and I won't over-race him either. He's still quite babyish. I was keen to run him back off the back of his last run because he learned so much but I'll take my time now and he'll tell us. He'll probably have one more run before the year is out.
Halford doubles up with Love
We're delighted with her. She's a filly with a lovely pedigree. I'm delighted for Michael Enright, he owns the mare and bred this one. He's been very patient with her,. We just had to wait for a bit of an ease in the ground with her. I thought she was ready to start and she came alive well when she got here. I think she'll make up into a smart filly and she'll improve plenty for the run. It's great to have a winning start with her and hopefully she'll go forward. She'd only been on the grass once.
Star edges Debutante thriller
She's tough isn't she. She's all heart and stays really well,. Shane said they went hard the whole way and she got a little bit lost in the middle of the race but when she got upsides all she wanted to do was stick her head out. She's tough and needs a mile.
Another Futurity win for Ballydoyle
Kastasa swoops late under Slattery
We were very happy with her, she's progressive,. She won well in Sligo the last day and this was a step up in grade again and she's won nicely going to the line. Where she goes from here I'm not entirely sure but she's a filly that deserves a crack at a decent handicap now in the autumn. We'll see how she comes out of the race and see how we go then. She stays well, is honest, genuine, tough and only does what she has to do. She's a lovely filly and hopefully there is more to come from her.
Fridtjof Nansen skates in for Cotter and Keane
It's great to be back here again. We've been listening all year to people telling us that this horse is a mile or mile-and-a-quarter horse but we thought he had plenty of boot and six was his trip,. Ronan rode him here the last day, when he was fourth in a five-furlong maiden, and said 'lads go to six'. He was committed today and couldn't ride him. Colin just dropped him in and everything went to plan. He's come down the ratings a bit which he probably needed to as he paid the price for having a few decent runs in maidens last year for Mr Oxx. Hopefully he'll win another one and we'll see how far he can go. I think it's taken him a while to come to himself. He hadn't been showing it on the track for us and then there were question marks asked of him but he proved it today. He was in front, I thought, maybe a bit too soon but he got towed there and in fairness he galloped all the way to the line.
