Marnane 1-2 in Dundalk opener
David (Marnane) said he was in great form and I let him make the choice about which one I rode - to be honest I'd have gone for Harry Trotter!
Marnane and Lynch double up
he (Eusepio) got a soft lead and I'd say the early fractions were fairly slow. I don't know what happened him the last day (well beaten when 4/6 favourite) as he was beaten three furlongs out . we'd no explanation for it.
Bualadh Croi scores at 25/1 on h'cap debut
Bualadh Croi suffered with his muscles and that's why he has been so lightly raced. He showed promise as a two year old but has been disappointing all along since. We'll probably go again over a mile or step him up in trip. He was still a bit green there and Ian gave him a good ride.
More Joy for Collins!
Captain Joy is a model of consistency and is in the Lincoln and we'll also put him in the Irish Lincoln. He needs good ground and in time we'll step him up (in trip) - he was giving weight to some smart horses there and is the sort of horse who always seems to get there.
Keane steers first winner for neighbour Lyons
Shukhov deserved that as he has been one of the busiest horses here over the winter but put blinkers on him for the first time today. He had been running well over 1m4f but coming back in trip today suited him and that's his second success here. Colin (son of Ger Keane who trains locally to Lyons) comes into us to ride work.
Mad For Road motors to Dundalk win
I was hoping he'd run a nice race as he had been running over hurdles and the better ground here suited. He'll go for something similar and he's one to go hurdling over the summer.
'Know-all' Lonan wins for Halford/Foley
he (Lonan) is still a big baby and will improve a lot. He knows more than he thinks he does!
Asian Wing scores third recent win
Asian Wing is a four year old but is still improving. He'll probably come back here in two to three weeks time for a similar handicap.
