"Best performance yet" from Slattery's View The Bay
We rode her a bit differently tonight as she was kind of pulling up in front. We held on to her a bit more and it seems to have worked,. She got left here the last night she ran over five furlongs but it was her second run back and I'd say she bounced after her break. She won a seven-furlong maiden after being off for six months and I'd say she just bounced then. Tonight was her best performance yet. I was kind of planning for the six-furlong €25,000 race here in two weeks time. That was the plan whatever happened tonight.
"Brilliant ride" and Keane is off the mark for 2019
The fact that they went really fast was a help to her as they came back to her,. He gave her a brilliant ride from out the back. She won a claimer and was second in a claimer two runs ago and then her saddle slipped last time. She has run well in those claimers and that's just about her mark.
Theobald takes the feature at Dundalk
Doyle delighted to get a win on Soprano's card
It's great to win a maiden with her. She's a full-sister to Spanish Tenor, who was Group 3 placed,. It's great to get a win on her card and she's coming to herself, every run is better than the run before. She ran well here last time and I think she's come on for that run. She's a big filly and I'm hoping she'll keep progressing. Shane said she loves that surface so we'll give her another run here and then see about the Turf after that.
Huge Rule 4 but Isosceles wins a thriller
I'm very happy with him. He had a bad draw first time up here, things didn't go well and he was very green,. It's nine weeks since we ran so we gave him a chance to strengthen up and come forward and he's come forward nicely. I'd expect he'll improve. He loves that surface, he's lazy at home and is the type you'd like. He has a good attitude but he just goes through the motions at home and it's hard to get a line on him. A mile is good for him at the minute and I think there will be more to come from him. Physically there is plenty more improvement in him. We'll see what the handicapper does. We'll take small steps and go from there.
Halford doubles up with Gougane Barra
He did well from the wide draw. Ronan did well on him, he'd ridden him before,. It's a good trip for him and he likes that surface. He's a big horse and as I said the last day when he won, very few would have had the patience to wait as long on him but Paul's (Rooney, owner) a great man and has got his reward. We'll just keep tipping away with him.
Double up for Coen as he rides his 1st winner in the Magnier silks
Two for Coakley and some compo for Hogan and McAuley
That was great. The blinkers worked a treat,. Kevin Manning rode him the last day and he just arrived in front too soon. He said maybe to ride him a bit cold and we went for the blinds just to be sure. He's been a bit frustrating all year and we fancied him a lot of days during the summer. We thought he was well handicapped but obviously he was looking for the blinds. It's been a crossbar kind of night. We were second with the mare in the big race and the lads were unlucky in the first with Amanaat while Kerosin ran a bit flat. It was good to get a winner out of it as we had a good few runners. He's entered at Wolverhampton next Wednesday but I'm not sure if I'll go there. He'll probably come back up here. There is a 70 race over five here in two weeks time. It's great for the lads. They are good supporters of mine and have a good string with me now. They are all running well and long may it last.
