Turn On The Jets does just that in Dundalk
He was always very sharp mentally and we ran him on the opening day of the turf season. He was probably a little weak but was showing up well in his work and seemed so straightforward that it made sense to run him. He grew and developed so we put him away with a winter campaign in mind and it’s worked out well. He will be a nicer three-year-old. We’ll have a look at the programme and there may be a conditions race or a rated race for him in the next few months. It was a well-executed ride by Ronan and it was great to see him really stretch his neck out. He really wants it.

Prisoner's Dilemma set free to win in Dundalk again
It appears they cut their own throat up in front and Donagh was in the right position. He’s won this race two years in a row so he’s a bit like Santa!. We didn’t over race him this year on the turf with an eye on Dundalk and we’ll keep him rolling now while he’s fit and healthy. Hopefully he can pick up another couple of races and maybe he could run in a turf Premier Handicap on fast ground over the seven.
McGuinness crowns successful season with Inflection Point
Rory gave him a grand ride. He dropped him in which I felt he needed to do to get the seven. He got a lovely clear run and just idled a little bit in front. I’m delighted for Nigel O’Hare and it’s his first winner in his colours. He’s from Mayobridge near Newry and they are his local club colours. He can do six or seven and we bought him for just 12,000 in Newmarket not too long ago. He’s paid for himself already and is a real fun horse. It’s been a great year and this is my last night with runners. It was great to get the HRI award the other night (Flat Achievement Award for his first Group One with A Case Of You's victory in the Prix de l'Abbaye) which really topped it off. We have great staff that work really hard and long may it continue.
Prince Of Peace dictates over the mile
Dalvey another Dundalk winner for McAuley
Derek O’Connor told us he was nearly there after running on the beach (at Laytown) and he’s never looked back since. We ran him over two miles because he was working slow but since then he’s been getting quicker and quicker. He’s starting to realise the potential that he had. That’s 20 winners for the year for us and 14 up here. We never have more than about 16 riding out so it’s been a brilliant year.
Coen doubles up on Arctic Blaze
John Flynn has been a long-standing owner of mine and he’s had four or five horses that have been disasters but he’s always been very patient with me and come back for something else. I’m really thrilled to have a first winner for him as he’s been so loyal and patient. The filly has really turned a corner and has probably come on again from a good run on her return last time. She might be one that will jump a hurdle as well. She’s big enough and she stays. Unfortunately Siobhan (Rutledge) wasn’t well and couldn’t ride but Jake was a great substitute.
