An Bradan Feasa scores in style on hurdle debut
Dame Rapide lands the odds over hurdles
I'm happy with that. We'll have a look at the Irish Cesarewitch and probably let her off for the winter. She'll probably go back jumping in the spring. She wants good ground, that's as slow as she'd want it really, but she handled it well and did everything right . She’ll be a nice filly again in the spring.
Veteran Dorans River still has plenty of fire in the belly
Ballybawn Belter continues on upward curve in Ballinrobe feature
She missed the break badly in Galway and, in hindsight, at a quick track like that she probably didn't have the speed to drop down in trip. Maybe at the likes of Navan in the winter she'd be okay back in trip. I saw this race and said we'd try her over two-six. I don't think they went very quick, though, so she's probably still a two-and-a-half mare with the boot she shows. I was contemplating going over fences but Frank (Berry) twisted my arm and said we'd keep her over hurdles for the time being. I'm delighted with her. She was a skinny, narrow, very light thing last year and really has rounded up and strengthened up. Four-year-old fillies can lose their way but she's really started to go the right way physically. We'll look for another hurdle for her.
Christie's mare off the mark over fences
She did it well now,. She won her hurdle on the outer loop, the same track they were using today, and that's a nice track. They've done an unbelievable job with it here. She doesn't want real summer ground, she wouldn't want quick ground. She's very light-framed and enjoyed that ground, it's beautiful ground here today. I have to say that she keeps surprising me. I thought if we were third in this we'd have run well, but in fairness I knew that if she could run to the form of when she was second to Gavin Cromwell's mare (Malinas Girl) at Roscommon last year, she wouldn't be far away.

The Eye Of Tulla proves good advert for McMahon
He's done it really well, he's a miller to jump and two miles is his trip and he likes to bowl along in a nice rhythm. John Staunton does an awful lot of work with him and he did a little bit of fast work with him yesterday and he said .we're in business.. Once he gets his conditions, nice ground and two miles, he usually puts up a good show. I'm full-time training now and am trying to build up the string. I'm building a barn at the moment which should be ready soon and I'll be up into the low-twenties numbers wise.
Sharp Object looks a smart filly in the bumper
That wasn't unexpected, her work's been lovely. We got her off Paddy Turley who does a very good job with his breezers and his point-to-pointers. She came highly recommended and she's done nothing but please us since we got her. I'm delighted to win for the people involved. Obviously they're a big syndicate and it's great to get off the mark with the first horse we've had for them. They under-bid me at the sales for her and came in on her, because she was probably good value and she looks good value now anyway. She'll probably go to Gowran in a couple of weeks for a Listed mares' bumper if she come out of this all in one piece and the ground's not too bad. Diamond Boys handle soft ground but she has no bother with nice ground. She's pretty decent so I'd say she'll handle most types of ground.
