Blues takes the opener at Navan
It's quick ground out there. We knew he'd like good ground but that's as quick as he'd like it,,. He's still a bit of a baby and when he hit the front he started wandering. He just looked about but Colin said when Johnny's horse came to him he kicked on again. That should give him the world of confidence. We thought he'd win his maiden but we thought this race would suit him. Hopefully we still have him and he can go on from there.

I Am Power does it nicely on debut
He's a lovely horse and we've always thought a lot of him. He has a couple of real nice entries. I only had him 80 percent fit coming here and thought he'd improve a lot off the run. He was giving everything weight and we wouldn't have been surprised to see him beat here today but improve and come out and win the next day. That was kind of the plan with him. He was a bit green throughout the race and just figured things out late on coming up the hill. Pat thinks a lot of him and said he's a lovely horse, a proper six furlong horse. Hopefully now he'll improve enough out of that and we can step up to stakes company. We'll stick to six and step him up in class.
Polly picks up third win of season
That's the hat-trick for the year now. I said to David at the start of the season that she'd win three. I hope I'm wrong now and she might get another one somewhere!. We were baffled the last day in Naas with her run. She just didn't fire at all and maybe she was in season or maybe she just got out of bed the wrong way. She was in great order so we said we'd come back here and have a crack at this. Andrew gave her a great ride. She's by a sire than stands outside Nurney, Le Cadre Noir, for Aidan Sexton. We have a few of them at home. They might not be very fashionable but they all run and win. He's good value for money. There is no reason why she can't move up a grade now. She's a small filly so we'll keep the weight off her back. She'll run away in these handicap sprints and we'll see.
Smullen completes 49/1 double on Policy
It's the first time he's got his ground on grass, since I got him anyway. I suppose on ratings and having his ground on the day he should really have won but it's easier said than done. We'll try and go for something similar again. He's so well in on the turf we'd have to go again as long as he gets his ground. He's won eight times at Dundalk but never won on the turf. He was fifth in a big race at Lingfield last year and ran a cracker and then he's here in a 45 to 65.
