Set holds on in opening nursery
He deserves that. He missed tha break the last day and that's why he was beat nine-and-a-half lengths,. I thought he had reared up leaving the stalls but he was just slowly away. The real way to ride him is like a motorbike out in front and fair play to Emmet. He's been racing all summer and it's nice to sign off on a winner. He's in next week and we'll see what the boss wants to do but it's just nice to get the win for the owners.
Templar lands quick double for Lyons
I'm delighted for the owners Simon Girvan and Donal O'Brien who are two lovely fellas,. Simon is a real character and it was his dream to have Johnny ride one for him. The horse did it well. He was beaten by a very good one in Tipperary last time. We were just hoping he would step up and his home work was very good. He'll be a lovely horse to look forward to next year.
Casela scores for Treacy
I bought him out of Sylvester Kirk's. He won in England and is a tough horse but he bolted a few times over there and it was recommended they get rid of him,. He's a completely genuine horse. I ride him myself. I went to bed last night cause I thought I had pneumonia but it was just from trying to hold him!. You just have to try and hold on to him. Billy is very good on him and rode him first time at the Curragh when he got him to the start nice and settled. I have to thank the stewards for letting me go down early. It gives him a chance to win his race by not getting wound up. I'll certainly be back here again. The 13th is lucky for me as I got married on the 13th - sure I couldn't go wrong!
Morgan lands one-two and Murtagh bags double
It was a great performance by the both of them. They are two very sweet fillies,. The other one (San Sicharia) might have needed it as she went home for a while. I've always rated her slightly better but the 5lb would have matched them up. I'm delighted with them. Paddy Twomey (owner) has been a great supporter of the yard and deserved that. Both are going to the sales so it's job done.
Walsh makes it two on Bashkirov
He's a horse that wants that type of ground - he loves the all-weather,. We'll find something else for him here. I would say that the owner might go for the Ebor next year. He's an improving horse.
Sciatin clings on for success
Carroll down to 3lb as Space scores
He's a bit of a frustrating type. We thought he would be a real good bumper horse but he probably didn't stay,. We couldn't find an opportunity for him during the summer as it was so soft. That's my first winner for Gerry Byrne, who is a very good owner.
