Moon shines with debut win
she's a lovely, a big scopey filly and she was one we were looking forward to. When we saw the draw (16) we thought being first time out, and with greenness, it would be hard to do. In fairness to Billy he's great in those situations. He always rides the individual, rides to the pace. He realised he was going to be left too wide and slotted her in at the end. To do what she did, coming from stone last on the turn up the straight, first time out was good and was impressive. She's one to look forward to and I'm very happy. On paper beforehand it looked a solid maiden. We did like her and thought we had something coming. I'm not sure there's that much more for her; there might be a winners' of one in the New Year, I haven't really looked much beyond this. She's having a good blow there so we'll see where we go. Whatever she does as a two-year-old she's one to look forward to next year. We'll take it one step at a time and to win first time out was very satisfactory.
Able Jack gains first Irish win
we put cheekpieces on him tonight because he's just at that age where he's starting to think about things and they seemed to have worked. We rode him more positively than we had done before and he was back to a mile as well so it all fell into place. Gavin knows him well as he's ridden him work at home a few times lately, he's a good lad and is well worth the 5lb claim. He got a bit tricky in the stalls and we did a bit of stall work with him as well since the last day. He was loaded last today and we just kept an eye on that. He worked well last week and we thought he definitely had an each-way chance.
Distant Vista makes winning handicap debut for Murtagh
Michael Ryan and his team are delighted, they bred him, and I'm delighted to train a winner for them. The visor seemed to help him and Shane Kelly was happy with him the last time he rode him and said he handled the surface really well. We put the visors on him during the week and it seemed to put a bit of life into him. He's a horse that we liked all along and I'm glad he's got his head in front now. He's coming along all the time. Colin said he's still a bit lazy in behind but when he got into daylight and he gave him a backhander, with the visor, he quickened up well. I hope we can find another race for him here as I think he's a horse that wants the fast surface.
Jockey Keane wins both divisions of Nursery
he did everything wrong and did it the hard way. He needs to mature a little bit as he was just a little immature at the start. We wanted to get a hood on him and he was just being babyish. We'll give him a rest now and let him enjoy the winter. He's broke his maiden, which we're delighted with, and hopefully he grows mentally. He'll probably come back towards the end of the Dundalk campaign just to start off for the season. That was a fair performance carrying top-weight of 10st 2lb. The race didn't go to plan and he still did it so we're very happy with that.

it's been a great night and he (May Remain) seems to have found himself up here, he likes the all-weather. He went close a few times for us on the turf but he seems to have improved a bit on the all-weather and I'm delighted with him. He's in again on Wednesday and hopefully he'll run and give a good account of himself again. I had a double before a few years ago with No Approval and Koybig and this is great.
