Bercasa cruises to victory in Ballinrobe opener
She's a good filly - she's really stepped it up a lot since the break from last October,. She ran great first time out in Navan and she took us by surprise then last week at Leopardstown. She took on Niall McCullagh then - she was too free. He told us then to ride her differently.
Cenotice another easy winner at Ballinrobe
He jumped good and did everything right,. He was disappointing in bumpers but maybe he has turned the corner now jumping and on better ground. It's the owner's first winner at his local track. Martin (McHale) is the machinery man (sponsor of the Mayo National here at the track on May 28th).
Big plans for Pretender after feature success
We're delighted with him - he's a very good little horse,. Hopefully the handicapper is not too hard on him. He's only 16 hands but he's worth getting up for every day. He'll go to Punchestown - maybe for a Grade Two or Three and it's credit to Michael (Hogan, owner) that he kept him because we're a selling yard. I had him fairly straight for today and hopefully we'll be going to Galway with him this summer. Please God he'll be a Galway Hurdle type in time.
Choice collects despite mistake at last
I'm delighted for Michael (Hannon, owner) as he's a gentleman - a lovely man to train for,. We were a little bit worried about the ground as he won on bottomless ground last year and we thought he wanted it. He's shown there that he doesn't have to have it that way. After his mistake at the last he did well to stick at it.
Lucky 13 as Megaudais comes good
