Cappa gets a bit of luck in claimer
I'm not that surprised as he should have won about three times this year and was unlucky at Fairyhouse. He just needs things to fall right, and the race opened up well for him.
Duke keeps promise as Little Miss wins
I'm delighted for Gary and Sharon Davis (owners) as they bred her and really put their heart and soul into this. Their neighbour in Rosenallis (County Laois), Alastair Pim, acts as an advisor. I promised them she would win a race and this is her surface. She's a late May foal and there are more days in her. I'll give her a break and come back here around February.
Blinkers have Lion operating at full tilt
Wayne said he bounced off the surface and the blinkers also helped. He ran in a schooling race here a few weeks ago and loved it,. He's disappointed a couple of times over hurdles, and was in great form going to Cheltenham but for some reason it didn't work out. He doesn't like being crowded. There are not too many two-mile races here over the winter but we'll try and find something, and leave the hurdles until we get better ground next year.
"Very sound" Drake can mature even more
He deserved a win. We gave him a bit of time as he's not as precocious as a lot of the sire's stock. He's a big rangy fella and has improved since his last run. He's a very sound horse. The mile probably stretches him a bit and he could drop down to seven furlongs. That is it for this year, and he needs to mature a bit more. Mrs Keller (owner, from Switzerland) is a good supporter and has five horses in the yard.
Ivy does it again under Orr
30/1 Dundalk double for Feane
They went so quick that it suited him, and everything fell into his lap. I don't think it was the greatest race,.
Truth eventually rewarded
152/1 Whelan Dundalk double
I was very disappointed with her at Listowel, although the surface here helped her. The plan is to go to St Moritz next year as her half-sister won there. We have always thought a bit of her, and it's great for the mare to get another winner.
