Kid just lasts it out for Codd & Townend
I was expecting him to win last Christmas. He won his point-to-point and his bumper and I thought he was a very good horse. I don't know what has been wrong with him and I didn't expect him to be winning his maiden hurdle at Downpatrick in May. He enjoyed the tight track and the good ground.
Nodelay obliges for McBratney & Carberry
I knew she would run well. She is a good filly. Paul gave her a great ride. She is a lot stronger this year and she made them look ordinary enough here today. You couldn't have the ground fast enough for her. It's my local track and I walked it at lunchtime and I'm glad I did. The winning syndicate (the Usual Order Syndicate) is made up of ten women from Belfast.
Tough Mark lives up to his name
Anything that could go wrong did go wrong but he still won. Davy gave him a peach of a ride. That is my first winner in Downpatrick and my second winner of the season. He is a hardy little horse.
Double for ultra cool Carberry aboard Griesenau
He is a bit of a worrier. He ran on his nerves the last day at Kilbeggan and we wanted to switch him off today. There was plenty left in the tank as Paul sat on him for so long. It was a moderate enough race.
Talk eases to his third win at Downpatrick
Strategy provides Flynn with his first winner
I couldn't believe the price he was as he was very unlucky in his winners of one point-to-point. He was left fifteen lengths at the start but still managed to finish fourth!. He was a weak horse as a 4yo. He could win again and we might go hurdling with him.
Well backed Dysart takes the last for team Mullins
She is fit and I want to keep her going as I think she will handle the summer ground. She might go for a winners of one bumper now but she will go hurdling soon, as she jumps a hurdle well.
