Mudcrabs makes all on first start for Feane
She was very keen out in front but she stayed at it. We found a nice opportunity for her so it was great. I have her about four months. We'll drop her back in trip and she should be competitive off her mark.
Shinyhappyjohn wins again twelve months on
It must be his time of year as he won on this night last year!. We'd nearly given up on him. I had been trying to sell him for the last two weeks but couldn't get a bid. We tried him over seven as a last resort last time and Pat Smullen said he didn't like horses crowding around him. I told Donnacha to go as hard as he could tonight and see if he kept going — and he did. He got put up a stone for winning here last year and struggled after that. The lads stuck with him and he's won again now. I'm not sure whether he'd win again under a penalty but we might try him on the turf where he is rated lower.
Soul just beats Yuften in Dundalk feature
You have to be patient with him going to the start but he's in more of a hurry to come back. He loves it around here and has been a great servant. He ran to the ounce with the other horse (Togoville) and you could set your clock by him, especially around here. It's great to have these conditions races. They are good horses and Johnny's horse is a smart horse coming back so it's great to have opportunities for them. We took him to Lingfield but five was a bit quick and took him out of his comfort zone. He was flying hitting the line though. He owes us nothing.
Well-backed Mulligatawny gets off the mark
I'm delighted. He had a very good run at Leopardstown at the backend of last year. He had done well over the winter so we thought we'd start off up here. The great thing is that he goes a mile. We weren't sure if he would last year but he got it well. Let's hope he keeps going in the right direction and I'd imagine we'll look at a Guineas trial. I'd say he wouldn't want extremes of ground. He probably wouldn't go on good to firm or soft to heavy but anything in between.
Stoichkhov gains fifth win at Dundalk
Birthday boy Foley completes Dundalk double
He just keeps improving and just keeps doing enough. He got it handy enough in front there tonight and a mile is his ideal trip. He's thriving on racing, is as sound as a ball and it's all falling right for him. He loves it around here and has done us proud over the winter. He's so straight-forward and that makes some difference as you can pop him out and do your own thing.
Soul sends favourite backers home happy
I'm delighted. He's still a big baby and hopefully there's a lot of improvement to come. He's raw. Pat gave him a lovely ride and I'm very happy. He probably will get further. He's only a shell of a horse. We'll see how he is but he might get a little break. Probably his future is over hurdles and that's probably where he is heading to.
