Friendless Cat roars to success
He is a handicapper and he is a horse that will step up now. He loves fast ground. A mile and a quarter to a mile and a half is his trip. We haven't had him that long so we didn't know a whole lot about him.

Ghirl springs a surprise for Smyth/McCullagh
That is their (the winning owners the Lamont Racing Partnership) first Irish winner. They have quite a few horse with Keith Dalgleish in England. That's the first horse they have given me a chance with. They are going to give me some more as well so it is great to get off the mark with her. She shows plenty at home and we were a bit disappointed not to have won with her before now. She has been slowly away a few times but Niall got her out and got her up there. We had here in the five furlong race but we didn't want to take on the older horses. She was the outsider here because she had a few mediocre runs against older horses. She was back in her own bracket tonight. The plan was to get out and cut across to the wide outside for the better ground. I'm delighted and that was Niall's first ride for me.
Pixie comes from last to first
He was unlucky the last day. He was just too slow away. He tends to be a bit slow away and then finish off his races, but Bellewstown was that bit sharp for him. He deserves a small break now, he is after being busy. Hopefully if he gets an ease over five or six he will win another one. I think he will be better with a bit of an ease.
Quick reappearance pays dividends for Lady
She is an amazing mare (twelfth career success this evening). I walked the track after dinner and the ground was safe so we decided to run.
Boats gets back on track at Navan
He was the best horse in the race. You have to think the trainer was running him over the wrong trip. Hopefully that is the turning point. Colin said he was different horse riding him like that. He won a Scurry Handicap so you can forgive me for thinking he had a bit of speed. It was liking he running away from something and quitting. I said to the owner (David Spratt) before we pulled the plug on him that we step him up and drop him in. Today was about retiring him if it all went wrong. We will try and find something similar now.
