That was nice. We were a bit disappointed with the run in Galway but he got hampered at the wrong time there when a horse bumped into him at the bottom of the hill,. Luckily enough I had him declared for here and we were very happy with him the next morning when we gave him a bit of a canter. He was very well in himself and we were very happy to come here with him. He's entered for Tipperary on Friday and if we get a bit of cut in the ground and everything is okay we might go there. We've been looking for a cut in the ground all year. The last few times he ran well, finishing fourth, he continued to be dropped a few pounds. Unless it's a three-year-old it is hard to get a horse rated between 65 and 73 into races. We've been struggling to get into a race with him.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Corporal Violette, trained by G.M.Lyons, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal
The Stewards requested a report from Thomas Cleary, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Kodiac Prince, placed first, as compared with its recent run at Galway two days ago. Thomas Cleary reported that his charge did not race into the dip or up the hill at Galway. He added that his charge had shown a liking for Naas when finishing second in a handicap here last year. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report
At the request of the Stewards, J. Cleary, rider of Loingseoir, trained by M.C. Grassick, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount ran flat
M.A. Enright, rider of Juyush (GB) trained by Miss Jennifer Anne Lynch, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung badly right throughout
C.T. Keane, rider of Corporal Violette trained by G.M.Lyons, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran disappointingly
