"Often more delighted" but Prendergast's "got the money"
Awtaad's half-sister Alghabrah stepped up a position on a promising debut second placing at Leopardstown in October to justify odds of 2/7 in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Maiden at Dundalk. Tue 10th Apr
He's been a good stalwart, he's a great work horse and he's done his job. It's a pity the race is only 15 (maximum claiming price of E15,000) but, at the same time, we are great supporters of claiming races - we believe in them. The Horses in Training Sale was on yesterday and this is as good, if not better. If he is claimed, we wish the best of luck to the next people. It is a nice winner for Colin to get him on the board for the championship. So he should (travelled well in that company), he was a 100 horse in his day and he ran really well on Friday and, if he backed that up at all, that's the way he should have done it and he did it.

He's an oul star. He's a stalwart at home, a good lead horse, and he pulls one out of the bag every so often. As Colin said to me when he has top weight in those races he has a bit of class and he can get himself out of jail. Colin was very very good on him. It was a very good night's work and it's grand to get him back on the winning trail.

He is a brilliant workhorse and is a work companion for Siskin (tomorrow’s Irish 2,000 Guineas favourite),. We had planned to run him in the Lincoln but he didn't make the cut. The big worry was the seven furlong trip today but the watered ground played to his strengths and he deserved that. We'll look to get him into one of those big handicaps.

That was grand. He's a kind timid horse. We didn't take him back on his second start in Dundalk and it just didn't work so we learned to take our time and arrive wide and late,. He's still a baby but we think he'll get ten furlongs in time. He's a lovely individual of a horse, he's growing up and I'd say there's another day or two in him.

He made the running the last day and it was just the wrong way to ride him. His work is good at home and he loves hunting one down. He got there and either he idled or the other horse seen him and had something to chase down. It was a good run and they have pulled clear, and that is what we expected him to do in Dundalk. We were disappointed coming out of Dundalk but I would rather win here.
