FormscanBy Tom Weekes - PENNINE HILLS is consistent and able and while she drops in trip, also drops in grade. A good debut winner in July, she was second over today's trip at Listed level subsequently and while well held on her latest two starts, those were hot races and she drops in grade, albeit to the all-weather for the first time. HMS Endeavour is the first foal from an American dam who won five Grade 1s and he improved from his debut run to win at Navan. That form has yet to be tested but he remains open to plenty improvement. It was ambitious to try Anatoli in the National Stakes just five days before this lesser race, and while well beaten at the Curragh, the race may have taught him to settle more. Speedacus, a speedy 5f type, is progressing and beat Jarvis to win at Navan latest. Both horses face stiffer tasks today. Lord Gorgeous was well held on his latest starts but drops in grade and, notably, is a previous course and distance winner.
