Review curragh 4th May Curtain Call (3-1) relished the return to Ireland in the High Chaparral EBF Mooresbridge Stakes. Not much has gone right for Jessica Harrington's 2007 Beresford winner since he transferred to Luca Cumani's yard, but Fran Berry was determined to utilise his proven stamina in this Group Three.Dictating matters in front, Berry quickened the tempo over three furlongs from the finish and although Famous Name went in pursuit, the chase was in vain and he failed by three lengths.Vocalised was the highlight of a double for Jim Bolger when making it four wins on the bounce in the Dylan Thomas EBF Tetrarch Stakes.Although Kevin Manning was already in the drive position over two furlongs out on the 8-15 market leader, he never really had to resort to the whip in order to inflict a length-and-three-quarter defeat on Chief Lone Eagle.Atasari (14-1) showed admirable resolution to land the Strategic Prince EBF Maiden. Bolger's juvenile displayed guts which belied her inexperience to battle back once headed en route to a half-length defeat of Clashnacree.Emily Blake (9-1) benefited from a fine front-running Johnny Murtagh ride to claim the scalp of Dermot Weld's Mad About You in the Oratorio EBF Athasi Stakes. The latter was strongly fancied to land her second Group Three in succession but having loomed up just inside the final quarter-mile, she couldn't quicken as Murtagh, who had saved something on the winner, kicked on again to score by a length and three-quarters.Weld had to settle for second again when Cnocan Gold was caught close home by 20-1 shot Dafaroun in the Ad Valorem Handicap, and the master of Rosewell House endured further misery when Champion Bumper third Rite Of Passage finished unplaced in the Rockview (QR) INH Flat Race won by Fionnegas (9-2).Holly Hill (5-1) won the Footstepsinthesand Handicap, while the concluding Ivan Denisovich Maiden went the way of 5-1 chance Love Bird.© www.irish-racing.com
