Well-bred Vadiana gets a bracket for Collins Vadiana (9/2) provided Tracey Collins with a welcome winner when running out a decisive winner of the fillies' maiden over a mile. Ronan Whelan took his time on the 74-rated daughter of Vadamos who was mid-division turning for home. Soon asked to improve, she made good headway on the outer to lead a furlong out and stayed on strongly to beat Lizzy's Filly and Livia Celeste by three and a quarter lengths and the same. Winning trainer Collins said: "She really is a beautifully-bred filly, her breeding is phenomenal. "I knew six furlongs was too short for her in Naas and when the fillies' maiden came up here, we said we would just give her one crack at it. "I must say her owners, Sonia and Anthony Rogers of Celbridge Estates Ltd, have been unbelievable because she is not an easy filly. She has been very difficult and they have given me all the time that we want with her. "I'm not surprised she has done that, she's a filly we have always thought an awful lot about. "She ran very green in Bellewstown but we are delighted with her." Quotes from Michael Graham
