Dora pleases in Newmarket gallop

Peter Harris` Sagitta 1000 Guineas hope Dora Carrington continued her build-up for the big race by working on the Across The Flat gallop on racecourse side at Newmarket today.

The winner of last year`s Cherry Hinton Stakes travelled from her Hertfordshire stables to headquarters and worked under big-race jockey John Reid.

Pete Mason, syndicate manager for Harris, said: 'We`ve had our problems with the weather like anyone else and we thought we would freshen her up by giving her a blow and a change of scenery.

'She worked with Volontiers and Mr Harris and John were pleased with her, she`s bang on course for the Guineas.'

Mason also had news of stablemate Primo Valentino, who bounced back to form when landing the Abernant Stakes at Newmarket earlier this month.

The sprinter will now go for the Duke of York Stakes at York`s Dante meeting next month.

'It was great to see him back to his best and he has come out of the race well,' said Mason.

'We are now looking at York for him.'
