Universally repeated a course and distance success from last autumn when coming from last to first in the straight to take the Maher Tractor Sales Handicap at Fairyhouse.

The grey son of Acclamation really got motoring from over a furlong out under Niall McCullagh and led in the final 100 yards to beat the front-running Tawaazon by a length. Pink Sorrel was a further length and a quarter back in third.

Winning trainer Eoghan O’Neill said, “He won at Fairyhouse last year and seems to enjoy it here.

“A little dig in the ground is very important for him. It’s good ground there today and it was firm in Down Royal the other day.

“He enjoys coming through horses and that’s the way he won here last year as well.”
