Tyrconnell keeps up serious momentum for Sarah Lynam team The Find Us On Facebook @dundalkstadium Handicap saw Sarah Lynam make it three winners in succession when Tyrconnell scored under Shane Crosse. Juyush won three at this venue in November and December for the Dunshaughlin handler, whilst stable companions Just Brilliant (January 8th), Sabrina Fairchild (January 20th) and Irish Ambassador (January 22nd) have kept up the momentum since Tyrconnell raced towards the rear here, before making headway into seventh two furlongs out. He went third travelling well a furlong and a half out, and pushed along to lead under a furlong out, the chestnut stayed on well, eased close home, to easily defeat Dark Magic by two and a quarter lengths. The winning trainer reflected afterwards: “He really deserved that as he's been running absolute crackers and I think he's gone up a stone since last March. “He's had the worst draw and has kept going up the weights. He has a great heart and enjoys his racing. “He actually won easily there, I was surprised. He's in good form, it's a pity there weren't many races for him. “I was going to let him out on holidays but saw the notification about this race on the HRI website on Monday evening. I was delighted. “Shane is very good on him as he's quite confident and knows his quirks.” C.D. Hayes, rider of Haayem (FR) trained by James McAuley, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount jumped awkwardly from stalls. (GC & EM)
