Townend sidelined with collarbone injury

Paul Townend is expected to be back in action next Saturday after suffering a hairline fracture of his collarbone in a schooling accident earlier this week.

Turf Club doctor Adrian McGoldrick said today, "Paul has suffered a partial fracture of his collarbone. He's been attending Tadhg O'Sullivan, and I believe he'll be back riding by next Saturday."

Townend was out for a month near the end of last season due to a fractured collarbone, and he then missed a further two months with the same injury following a fall at the Punchestown Festival.
