Time comes good for Levins Footstepsintime struck at 16/1 on his seasonal bow, in the three-year-old six furlong handicap, at Cork this afternoon to give Sean Kirrane his second career success. The Johnny Levins-trained gelding raced mid-division before being produced on the outside to challenge a furlong-and-a-half from home. Kirrane sent his mount to the front inside the final furlong and he was always doing enough to hold Eadbhard at bay by half a length. The winner was making his first start this year having been well held in five outings as a juvenile last term. "We always liked him as a two year old but we possibly ran him too much and hence we ended up with a low rating,” said Levins. “He strengthened up over the winter and appreciated the ground and isn't slow and will stay seven (furlongs). "I'm looking forward to him climbing up the ranks now. "That's Sean's second winner and is a very hard working young lad and gets the train down from Dublin every morning at 6am, then gets back for late classes in school and will sit his Leaving Cert in June."
