The five-year-old gelding picked up the pace three from home and motored away to win as he liked to enthuse favourite backers who had taken the 100/30. Ted Walsh with a cautionary eye on the handicapper said: “They went a good old gallop and this fellow keeps galloping and stays well. “He won’t run at Fairyhouse tomorrow [entered in the two mile six furlongs handicap hurdle. “Whatever the handicapper does he does. He’s only a five-year-old and we’ll give him a bit of a break and hopefully he’ll improve.” Outsiders Cootamundra (14/1) and Barneys Honour (16/1) completed the placings.
