The Ger Lyons trained Tough Talk followed up his recent easy win at Laytown when making all under Colin Keane to double up in the concluding William Hill Top Price Guarantee Handicap at Dundalk.

Having got off the mark at the first time of asking, in a Curragh maiden in April 2022, the Moyglare Stud Farm owned gelding failed to add to that success until last time.

However, despite winning a Q.R. race on the beach by a hard held 10 lengths, the son of Kingman looked to have a lot more to do in this stronger grade.

To his credit, having been pressed by I Am Superman throughout, the 11/8f knuckled down well to win by a length.

Ger Lyons said: "You could argue that (tough by name and nature).

"He qualified for the race in Laytown and Derek (O'Connor) just did what he did.

"He leads all our work at home and he is very, very straightforward at home.

"That was lovely and he is a fine horse - he's a gorgeous horse, but he's off to the Sales and we've had our time with him.

"You don't ever want to lose them, but we have had our time with him and it is what the policy is. They sell at a certain level and that is where he is, you can't keep running in Dundalk with him.

"He was a quality two-year-old and was held up as a three-year-old. It has taken us this long to get him right and then you saw him on the beach (Laytown)."
