Willie Mullins feels that Fact To File still has to improve to get the better of dual Gold Cup winner Galopin Des Champs over three miles.

The two feature among the entries for the Savills Chase at Leopardstown on Saturday week, a race Galopin Des Champs won 12 months ago.

Fact To File sprang to the head of the Gold Cup market after his win in the John Durkan Chase at Punchestown.

Mullins wasn't surprised that the JP McManus-owned gelding emerged on top last month but feels the seven-year-old still has something to prove over a longer trip.

“I thought that trip might suit him better, he'd be sharp enough for that trip. We didn't know, we just went there,” Mullins told journalist Dave Keena.

“Nothing that Fact To File does would surprise me, he has everything going for him.

“He could probably win shorter races than Galopin Des Champs.

“He's going to have to take on Galopin Des Champs over a trip and that's going to be a different ball game. He's going to have to get past him.

“Galopin Des Champs is a man and Fact To File will have to improve, I think, to get past him over the Gold Cup trips.”
