Suwappu was a nicely supported 16/1 winner (from 33s on the show) of the DundalkStadium.com Maiden at that venue today, as the Darren Bunyan owned and trained filly scored on debut under jockey Ben Coen.

The daughter of Acclaim raced in mid-division, was ridden to challenge two furlongs out and in the end improved to lead close home and beat Amanirenas by half a length.

Coen's brother Jake Coen had completed a double in the earlier race and following Suwappu's success, the senior sibling stated "she was probably a bit green throughout the race, and was a bit on it and off the bridle.

“It took me a while to get her organised early in the straight but once I got her into full swing, she came home well in the last furlong.

"She enjoyed the surface and she's very honest. I think stepping up to a mile will probably bring out a bit more improvement on nice ground.

"She has a very good attitude so you can't complain."
